Fabienne Chapot

Fabienne has been an entrepreneur for more than 14 years. At the age of 25, she launched her accessory brand, Fab., that was later renamed to Fabienne Chapot in 2016. You know the one, with its maxi dresses, quirky loafers, fluffy coats, cheerful looking suits, lobster print and brooches with croissants on them. Memorable, up-to-the-minute, colorful and feminine. The Fabienne Chapot brand is sold by a variety of retailers, from De Bijenkorf, to Gallerie LaFayette and more. Pretty impressive.

The woman herself, Fabienne Chapot, is just as impressive. As CEO of her brand, Fabienne maintains a clear view of the bigger picture, day in day out, overseeing marketing, finance, strategy, and back around. She leads a management team of seven individuals who all lead their own teams (around 40 people in total), and we haven’t even mentioned the five Fabienne Chapot stores in NL and BE.

Fabienne leads with a boatload of positive energy. She is not a ‘look at me, I’m in charge’ kind of boss, but rather has the ability to empathize with the individuals she works with and does so in a truly authentic way. We think this is great to see and even better to learn from..

Speaking at The Self-Made Summit about
Perseverance and the true power of a positive approach! According to Fabienne Chapot, the crux of entrepreneurship is not just in insights, identifying opportunities or smooth business operations. Perseverance is essential and crucial in order to attain growth, success and making it big. The power to always keep going, no matter the challenge, to face the fight and never give up - these are just as important as all the above-mentioned components.

Fabienne believes that perseverance, success and achieving goals are ultimately only possible with an ‘overdose’ of optimism and positive energy. Both of these things are naturally ingrained in her, and in large amounts. Moreover, she has made a conscious effort to incorporate these elements into the fabric of her company culture, her approach to leadership and her management style. At The Self-Made Summit, she will teach you how to do this too.

We know her from
Fabienne Chapot studied Communication Science. However once having graduated, she stepped right into the fashion world. It turned out she was a born entrepreneur and at 25, started her own brand under the name Fab.: an accessories brand with a focus on bags, shoes and accessories. In 2012, Sophie van Bentum joined the company and Fab. evolved even further. Come 2016, Fabienne and Sophie decided to re-brand the label and launch a ready-to-wear collection under the name Fabienne Chapot.

Sophie took on the role of Creative Director for the brand and in doing so brought with her a strong dose of femininity. Since 2016, Fabienne has focused entirely on the strategy and growth of Fabienne Chapot as CEO. The brand’s bold and colorful DNA, which can be credited for its huge success, is still the core of the company today. These days its boldness and color have evolved to take a more mature direction.
